Danish Butter Cookies



Ingredientes:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup turbinado (raw) sugar
Modo de Fazer:
 Cream the butter. Add the brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Beat in egg yolk and lemon zest. Add flour and salt; mix until just combined. Roll the dough into a log about 1 1/2 inches in diameter (chill dough, if needed, for easier handling) Roll the log in the turbinado sugar. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour. Preheat over to 350º F. Slice dough log into 3/8-inch-thick rounds; place the rounds on 2 large baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
